‘The Ashes and Ghosts of Tayug 1931’ (‘Dapol tan payawar na Tayug 1931’): Film Review
Here is an article which might be helpful for all of us. Close behind the news headlines lurk abstract puzzles. Freedom and democracy are offered up as justifications for war, yet they themselves are rarely explained or justified. People argue passionately about abortion, uncertain where law and morals meet or what anchors moral convictions. A judge in Dover, Pennsylvania, faced by Christian zealots claiming that evolution is “just a theory”, asks experts to explain what makes theories scientific.
This is sort of the point I have been trying to make.

The European Parliament , in a report commissioned in claimed that Wahhabi and Salafi groups are involved, mainly via Saudi charities, in the support and supply of arms to rebel groups around the world. The Egyptian Salafi cleric Mahmoud Shaaban “appeared on a religious television channel calling for the deaths of main opposition figures Mohammed ElBaradei — a Nobel Peace Prize laureate — and former presidential candidate Hamdeen Sabahi. He added that, “If bin Laden is fighting enemies of Islam, I am for him,” and that “If he is terrorizing America — the terrorist, biggest terrorist — I am with him.
Every Muslim should be a terrorist. The thing is that if he is terrorizing the terrorist, he is following Islam. The Saudi scholar, Muhammad ibn al Uthaymeen considered suicide bombing to be unlawful and the scholar Abdul Muhsin al-Abbad wrote a treatise entitled: According to which intellect and Religion is Suicide bombings and destruction considered Jihad?. Everybody claims that the Prophet is their role model.
Jihadization Each of these phases is unique and has specific signatures… The NYPD shows its grasp of the realities of 4GW by not seeing the enemy as a structure or organization: Al-Qaeda has provided the inspiration for homegrown radicalization and terrorism; direct command and control by al-Qaeda has been the exception rather than the rule among the case studies reviewed in this study… Rather, it radicalization is a phenomenon that occurs because the individual is looking for an identity and a cause… Salafist Islam provides the identity and cause these young men are seeking — and as a number of the case studies show, it has an appeal beyond ethnic boundaries.
The NYPD study correctly notes that: For those who believe the “terrorist” threat is waning, Radicalization in the West: The Homegrown Threat should provide a needed wake-up call. The good news here is that unlike the military, the cops get it.

What you need to know about how dangerous Islam is and why there will never be peace in the Middle east as long as Muslims exist. Here are 10, “Top ten Lists”? Top facts about Islam that Christians must learn: Islam, as a religious system, is entirely of Satanic origin. The Devil is behind every aspect of it. It is a “monotheistic” form of the ancient moon worship that Abraham left in Iraq BC, but which his descendents through Ishmael have continued. When Muslims circle the Kabah en mass, the Devil is the true object of their worship.

Al-‘Abbas is particularly revered by Shi’a Muslims for his loyalty to his half-brother and third Shi’a imam, Husayn ibn ‘Ali; his respect for the Ahl al-Bayt; and his role in the Battle of Karbala. He asked his brother, Aqeel ibn Abi Talib, to search for a wife from courageous descent. Aqeel discovered Fatima Qalabiyya, better known as Ummul Baneen.
It is said that he did not open his eyes after he was born until his half-brother Husayn ibn ‘Ali took him in his arms. This was a sign of the devotion that al-‘Abbas would have for Husayn throughout his life. Al-‘Abbas showed his loyalty to Husayn at the Battle of Karbala. After succeeding his father Muawiya ibn Abu Sufyan as caliph, Yazid ibn Muawiyah required Husayn to pledge allegiance to him. Husayn refused to do so.
In , Husayn left Medina with a small group of his companions and family, to travel to Kufa.
Is Islam to blame for freedom deficit in Middle East? My interpretation of your article: However authoritarianism should be linked more to Arab culture than to Islam.. Ernest Gellner in Muslim Society argued that Islam is the closest to modernity of the three great Western monotheisms.
Sadiq Aman Khan (/ s ə ˈ d iː k ˈ k ɑː n /; born 8 October ) is a British politician serving as Mayor of London since He was the Member of Parliament (MP) for Tooting from to A member of the Labour Party and its regional London Labour Party, he is on the party’s soft left wing and has been ideologically characterised as a social democrat.
A teacher recommended that he read law instead, as he had an argumentative personality. The teacher’s suggestion, along with the American television programme L. Law , inspired Khan to do so. I got a paper round, a Saturday job—some summers I laboured on a building site. The partners were Michael Fisher and Louise Christian. The government subsequently won on appeal. This prompted Cox, then in his mid s, to announce his retirement rather than risk de-selection.
In the subsequent selection contest, Khan defeated five other local candidates to become Labour’s candidate for the seat. He was elected to Parliament at the general election. Khan was one of the Labour MPs who led the successful opposition to Prime Minister Tony Blair ‘s proposed introduction of 90 days’ detention without charge for those suspected of terrorism offences. The letter criticised UK foreign policy and in particular the invasion of Iraq, stating that Blair’s policies had caused great harm to civilians in the Middle East and provided “ammunition to extremists who threaten us all”.
While the content of the newsletter was not deemed to be party political, the rose logo was found to be unduly prominent which may have had the effect of promoting a political party. There was no suggestion that Khan had deliberately or dishonestly compiled his expenses claims , which were not explicitly disallowed under the rules at that time.

This is an intellectual value desperately in need of reiteration, demonstration and reinforcement. The seduction of the word itself -peace -is that it is surrounded by, indeed drenched in, the blandishments of approval, uncontroversial eulogizing, sentimental endorsement. The intellectual’s role generally is to uncover and elucidate the contest, to challenge and defeat both an imposed silence and the normalized quiet of unseen power, wherever and whenever possible.
For there is a social and intellectual equivalence between this mass of overbearing collective interests and the discourse used to justify, disguise or mystify its workings while at the same time preventing objections or challenges to it. In this day, and almost universally, phrases such as “the free market,” “privatization,” “less government” and others like them have become the orthodoxy of globalization, its counterfeit universals.
They are staples of the dominant discourse, designed to create consent and tacit approval. From that nexus emanate such ideological confections as “the West,” the “clash of civilizations,” “traditional values” and “identity” perhaps the most overused phrases in the global lexicon today.
